The SDLT holiday for purchases costing between £125,001 and £175,000 has ended. From the 25th March 2010 a new exemption has been introduced for first time buyers who meet the qualification criteria and are purchasing residential property costing less than £250,000. 

The temporary reduction in VAT to 15% has returned to the previous rate of 17.5%.

Home Information Packs (HIPs) have been abolished. All that is now required is an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
